Get to Know Us

On July 5, 1905, the Spotsylvania Sunday School Union was formed.  This Union was comprised of all the Black Baptist churches in the county, which at that time included: Bethlehem, Beulah, Branch Fork, First New Hope, Little Mine Road, Mount Hope, Mount Olive, Mount Zion, Piney Branch, Second New Hope, Sylvannah, and Zion Hill.  Representatives from all of the previously mentioned churches met at St. Luke's Baptist Church and named themselves the Spotsylvania Sunday School Union (SSSU).

On January 20, 2025, we will host

our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

At 11 am on February 15, 2025, the Union will be hosting our Annual Black History Program at the Park Site.  Guest Speaker – Pastor Guy Richards, Pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Partlow, VA. Light refreshments served after the program. This is a FREE event.
